SELECT BOARD APPROVES NEARLY $240,000 IN EMERGENCY REALLOCATIONS

NH GOFFSTOWN — Goffstown Select Board authorizes nearly $240,000 in emergency budget transfers to maintain critical services under default budget constraints. The board approved $130,000 for the Fire Department to ensure three-person staffing at both stations, $100,000 for other departmental shortfalls, and $8,210 for increased election official stipends due to new state requirements mandating annual voter checklist reviews. Fire Chief Benjamin Selleck emphasized that the staffing increase was essential for safety.
The board also awarded the Montelona Road culvert replacement contract to John Neville Excavation Inc. for $346,632.40 and approved a five-year single-stream recycling agreement with Waste Management Inc. projected to save approximately one dollar per ton.
