Select Board · Meeting of August 24, 2026

NH GOFFSTOWN — Goffstown Select Board advances three ordinances addressing unauthorized encampments on public property. The board unanimously voted to send the Camping on Public Property Ordinance, Fires and Cooking on Public Property Ordinance, and Campers and Recreational Vehicles on Public Property Ordinance to public hearing, with the first hearing tentatively scheduled for September 14, 2026. Separately, the board revised its Fund Balance Policy to allow unassigned fund balance to range between 10 and 12 percent rather than a fixed 12 percent, and directed staff to develop funding recommendations for capital reserve funds in Town Facilities, Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation, Police Station Replacement and Rehabilitation, and Town Technology, potentially drawing from approximately $2.1 million in available reserves above the new 10 percent minimum threshold.
