NH GOFFSTOWN — Goffstown Select Board greenlights $178,080 precast bridge replacement at Tirrell Hill Road. Public Works Director Adam Jacobs recommended the concrete option over like-kind steel replacement due to superior longevity, faster timeline, and cost certainty amid tariff uncertainty. The weathered-steel bridge was red-listed by the state and reduced to one-lane alternating traffic after inspection identified beam deformation.
Total project cost, including guide rail, waterproofing, and paving, is approximately $220,000. The Board also approved accepting an $11,000 Planet Fitness equipment donation to the Fire Department, authorized auctioning of surplus municipal vehicles and equipment, and directed the Public Works Director to provide preliminary cost estimates for three Main Street intersection improvement options for September 28 review.
