River advisory committee advances public outreach on dam removal

NH GOFFSTOWN — Goffstown River Advisory Committee approves Hadley Falls dam removal public outreach plan. Vice Chairman Andrew Cadorette presented a revised website FAQ clarifying that the state-owned dam is funded through developer fees, not local property taxes, and removed references to potential amenities as ARM funds are restricted to wetland restoration. Town Administrator Derek Horne reported that the Department of Environmental Services acknowledged concerns about fire suppression hydrants affected by the removal.
The committee approved a trifold brochure for distribution at town facilities and Old Home Day on June 6, with Cadorette committing to finalize the design by the May 20 meeting.
