Library board commits to annual funding for aging-building maintenance

NH GOFFSTOWN — Goffstown Library board commits to consistent annual funding for building maintenance projects. The Library Board of Trustees committed to requesting $50,000 annually to its Capital Reserve Fund while considering additional shortfall funding to address an aging building with more than $500,000 in estimated maintenance needs. Board Chair Terry Curtis oversaw acceptance of donations totaling $1,093.95, including a television for children's programming from resident Natalie Moser and interest revenue from legacy trust funds.
Library Director Patti Penick reported an elevator out of service since May 28, with repairs expected by mid-July; completed furnace repairs on the second floor; and a sprinkler system now compliant with fire code. Upcoming projects include window replacement in July and parking lot paving in September.
