Goffstown Select Board approves $1.67M budget surplus
Select Board · Meeting of February 24, 2026
NH GOFFSTOWN — Goffstown Select Board approves $1.67 million budget surplus from fiscal year 2024. Finance Director Hofland presented the town's 2024 fiscal audit showing $1,672,342 in general fund surplus, composed of $106,972 in revenue surplus and $1,565,370 in unexpended appropriations largely from vacant positions throughout the year. The audit identified stale dated checks, purchasing procedures at the highway department, and cybersecurity concerns.
The board unanimously authorized Fire Chief Benjamin Selleck to purchase a 2025 Tahoe SSV replacement for a vehicle with engine failure, saving approximately $3,000, and approved the FEMA-funded Montelona Road culvert project ($350,000 to $400,000), which must complete this year due to funding deadlines.
