Federal grant advances Goffstown dam removal; work may begin 2027

NH GOFFSTOWN — Goffstown Economic Development Council re-elects leadership, discusses major infrastructure projects. The council unanimously re-elected Chet Bowen as chair and Richard Bruno as vice-chair for three-year terms. Vice-Chair Bruno reported that a $4.5 million state-funded dam removal project may begin in 2027, affecting the Pumpkin Regatta organized by the Main Street Program non-profit.

The council voted 5-0 with two abstentions to approve prior meeting minutes. The pedestrian bridge project, denied a $1.25 million TAP grant and ranked 21st in state applications, will pursue alternative funding.
