NH GOFFSTOWN — The Goffstown Economic Development Council approved prior minutes and swore in new member Darrell Halen on September 2. Chair Chet Bowen reported commercial real estate activity including a prospective car lot tenant at 578 Mast Road, a doggy day care lease at 70 Depot Street with half the space still available, and noted Putnam's and Sawyers are listed for sale. Planning & Economic Development Director Jo Ann Duffy briefed the Committee on an uptick in investor-led applications seeking variances to increase residential density, citing a similar duplex project on South Mast Road that received several zoning variances before Planning Board approval, with a comparable application now pending at 40 Henry Bridge Road for a 1700s-era single-family home with an accessory unit.
Staff will review potential zoning amendments next year to address gaps in multifamily definitions and lot coverage standards currently limited to building footprint rather than impervious surfaces.
