Budget Committee reorganizes and appoints fifth-place election finisher to vacancy
Budget Committee · Meeting of March 31, 2026
NH GOFFSTOWN — Goffstown Budget Committee reorganizes and fills vacancy after election dispute. Elizabeth Dubrulle was elected Chair and Samantha Kearns Vice Chair; the committee voted 6-4-1 to appoint Jessica Peutin, fifth-place finisher in the recent election, to fill a member-at-large opening. The vote reflected internal disagreement over whether to respect election results or open applications, with Joe Alexander and Brian Mazur backing Peutin against Peter Georgantas's call for public applications.
Chair Dubrulle announced a tentative May 5th joint meeting with the Select Board to address the 13 percent budget increase and default budget fallout. School Business Administrator Doug Totten reported the district would pursue a conservative operating budget for 2027-2028; town officials warned of approximately 70,000 dollars remaining cushion in the benefits line due to employee coverage growth.
