Budget Committee advances four town warrant articles and school contract proposal

NH GOFFSTOWN — Budget Committee readies town warrant articles and school labor contract for public hearing. Town Administrator Derek Horne presented four appropriation articles totaling $830,000 from unassigned fund balance: a three-year DPW Teamsters agreement with $47,020 year-one cost, $350,000 for the Fire Apparatus Capital Reserve Fund, $50,000 for a Public Library Capital Reserve Fund, and $430,000 for a solid waste packer. HR Director Kate McGrath presented a four-year Goffstown Education Association contract covering 258.2 full-time positions, targeting the 50th percentile of benchmark towns and starting salaries above $50,000, with year-one costs of $1,952,009.
The committee unanimously voted to forward the Goffstown Village Water Precinct budget, showing a 3 percent increase to $702,108, to public hearing scheduled for January 15th.
