Board approves landscaping business after rejecting identical proposal twice

NH GOFFSTOWN — The Planning Board approved a conditional use permit for Grasshoppers Landscaping to operate on South Mast Street after two deadlocked 3-3 votes forced a reconsideration motion that passed unanimously. Owner Chris Evans's New Boston-based landscaping business seeks seasonal operation, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days weekly, displaying sample hardscapes and plantings from a satellite office. The approval passed narrowly 3-2-1 with conditions including a 20-foot setback from the right of way and 15-foot setbacks from property lines, with all existing vegetation preserved.
The board also unanimously approved a conditional use permit for Eversource Energy to replace 14 utility poles on the B143 transmission line, approved 5-0-1, and granted relief and waiver requests for a Catherine Whooten subdivision at 112 Mountain Road.
